2 seperate customers have paid their outstanding bills tonight, and another two have pre-paid for jobs starting this week. This coming fortnight was about to look very tight finacially, I'd already transferred money from my personal account just to cover materials for a job starting on Tuesday. This would have meant not being able to afford the remaining balance on the Skoda due for collection on Tuesday, which would have delayed it further still. What a relief.

Alfa. Good night Oppo.

I saw one of these Alfas in the flesh today. A road going version, but one of them nonetheless.

Gorgeous car.

It was the first car (and present) I ever fell in love with after receiving an r/c version for my 8th birthday. My parents aren't even gearhead-y, just an awesome pot luck choice.

For a few years, I did independent consulting. I used to hate it when customers would drag their dick in the dirt with payment. I know there's always a billing cycle (I dealt with businesses, not individuals) to work with but when they say "Oh, I forgot to approve your invoice, we'll cut a check in two weeks" I wanted to yell "No, motherfucker, I have rent this week. How about you stop fucking around and stay on top of your shit!" But, alas... this happened, despite being careful with my spending - you can only save so much and mete it out for so long until you start digging into savings and/or credit cards to survive. So glad I'm a corporate whore, now...

Exactly. My business ticks along quite nicely but there are periods where I know that the next bill would cripple me, only because people haven't paid. I'm not unfair, I give them 21 days from date of invoice, and they can pay by cash, cheque or BACS. To be fair it's very rare with a lot of my customers, but 2 bad payers in a row can have a knock on effect.
